Clay Roof Tiles

Clay roof tiles are a functional and beautiful finish to your home. With a variety of styles and colors available, including custom options, you’re sure to find the right product to match your vision. Unlike imitation “clay-look” concrete tiles, genuine clay roof tiles have a number of important characteristics that contribute to their unique longevity, functionality and beauty.
Clay roof tiles are made from silica clay and are naturally maintenance free. They provide lower thermal mass per square foot and promote air floor. With superior strength, clay roof tiles have a breaking load exceeding 700 pounds per square inch and a weight of typically less than 7 pounds per tile, which means that they impose a much lower load on roof structures than imitation tiles.

The natural coloring comes from the type of clay used. For instance, iron oxides add red tones, while carbon compounds add gray. These colors are fixed by the firing process, which means they do not fade like pigment-added cement tiles, which require regular maintenance.
